From Vision to Reality

From Vision to Reality

Last fiscal year was truly remarkable — our second-biggest year ever when it comes to land protection. With your support, POST continues to safeguard regional biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and preserve the lands that sustain us all. Read on for the past fiscal year’s highlights, an in-depth look at some of our accomplishments, our financial information, and anecdotes from donors like you, who make it all possible.

Thank You to Our Donors

Carrying out our mission would not be possible without the support of our generous donors. We reached out to learn more about why they contribute to POST:

Bridget and Cully Davis, Trustee of the Shelby Cullom Davis Charitable Fund
We moved to northern California 21 years ago and were immediately struck by how special this part of the world is. The moment one hikes on POST-protected land or enjoys the food from POST-supported farms, it is easy to understand how critical POST is to preserving the ecosystem that we all enjoy.

Makena Capital
We are extremely proud to support POST’s work through the Makena Foundation. We believe that land stewardship and connection to our wild places is critical for a thriving and healthy community. POST has been investing heavily in protecting open space for our community for decades and for the benefit of generations to come.
-Luke Proskine, Managing Director of Makena Capital

The Dempseys
Whether connecting wildlife corridors, working with local farmers, or tackling fire resiliency, POST takes a hands-on approach to ensure that our landscapes will be protected, healthy and enjoyed for generations to come. Ellen and I have been proud donors for nearly 20 years and have been deeply impressed by POST’s commitment to our region.
-Sean and Ellen Dempsey

Amy C.
Thank you for leveraging resources to protect and support open spaces, farms, forests, wildlife, hiking trails, vistas, and more. In our congested Bay Area, POST lands give us beauty and a place to breathe.
-Amy C.

The Greenbergs
We raised our family here, and we consider exploring our local wilderness to be a true gift. So when we learned about the power and promise of POST, our entire family made it a priority to regularly support the organization’s remarkable work. It’s an honor to do our small part to protect these lands.
-Josh, Susanna, Addison, and Grant Greenberg

Bill Reller
For the past 30 years, I have supported the goals of POST, a very satisfying experience. The organization has protected such important landscapes, and has done so with only four presidents — wonderful stability. I continue to support POST, one of the finest land trusts in the country.
-Bill Reller

Our 2024 – 2025 Accomplishments

Our spectacular local landscapes provide critical wildlife habitat, access to nature so that people can recharge, land for local farmers, and a natural infrastructure that helps reduce the effects of climate change. At POST, we recognize that both land preservation and ongoing care are essential to the health of our region. 5,538 ACRES PROTECTED

Last fiscal year was one of our most impactful ever, with POST surpassing 90,000 total protected acres. Our work crossed into northern San Benito County for the first time, expanding the network of conserved wildlife linkages across local landscapes.

Landscape Health and Long-Term Planning

Along with successful land transactions, we continued our work to improve forest health, support sustainable agriculture, build wildlife connectivity, and enhance human access to nature. Projects like these ensure the long-term health of our local landscapes and communities.
